Programming & scheduling
Build a session once, run it all season. Templates carry full prescriptions and schedule to the whole team or a single athlete.
- Exercise library: a shared catalog plus your own custom lifts and drills, tagged by category, muscle group, and equipment.
- Prescriptions per exercise: sets, rep ranges, RPE targets, rest — with loads as absolute weight, % of 1RM, or bodyweight.
- %-of-1RM resolves per athlete: everyone sees their own target weight computed from their current recorded max.
- Recurrence: weekly, biweekly, or custom weekdays until an end date, with an occurrence preview before you commit.
- Add a time and it shows in athletes' session reminders; add a location so nobody guesses where.
Workout logging
Designed for one hand between sets — and for weight rooms with zero signal.
- Today's session front and center with a Start button; week strip shows what's coming.
- Log weight, reps, and RPE per set; prescriptions show plain-language tooltips for the jargon.
- Offline-first: sets save to the device instantly and sync automatically when signal returns.
- Finish by tagging the session "with team" or "on my own" — coaches see the split.
- Daily check-in (sleep, soreness, energy, mood) builds a readiness score in four taps.
Testing & benchmarks
Structured test days turn raw numbers into season-long trends.
- Define test types with units and direction (lower-is-better sprints, higher-is-better jumps).
- Test days mix performance tests and strength 1RMs; results are entered athlete-by-athlete on the spot.
- Quick estimated 1RMs anytime — they power %-based programming, and stale maxes get a retest flag.
- Athletes log their own 1RMs and benchmark scores too — entries stay pending until a coach verifies them in the Review queue.
- Every verified result feeds PR trend charts, the team leaderboard, and parent-visible progress.
Live conditioning
The finisher you call on the field lands on every phone before the huddle breaks.
- Coaches keep a library of conditioning blocks (running / strength / mixed) or send an ad-hoc note.
- Broadcasts arrive on athletes' phones instantly; they log results on the spot.
- Completions roll onto the coach's live board in realtime.
- Tie a block to a test type and logged results post to Metrics as benchmark attempts.
Fuel room & inventory
A QR label on every bin replaces the honor-system clipboard.
- Items carry unit cost, stock counts, and a low-stock threshold that fires a push alert to staff.
- Athletes scan (or tap) to grab — inventory decrements automatically and every grab is logged.
- Share items across teams: grabs are billed to the grabbing athlete's team, with clean cross-program totals.
- Activity view shows units consumed and dollar value, split between your team and others.
Reports & team pulse
The numbers that change Monday's plan, not just decorate it.
- Home-screen team pulse: who logged vs. skipped this week, today's readiness, missed and quiet flags, recent PRs.
- Dual-sport conflict detection: see commitments from an athlete's other teams, with clash dates flagged.
- Reports over 4/8/12 weeks: compliance %, volume, with-team vs. solo split, readiness trends.
- Athlete table sorts lowest compliance first; summary and raw-set CSV exports for deeper analysis.
Rosters, parents & privacy
Email invites build the roster; the database enforces who sees what.
- Invite athletes, coaches, and admins — existing accounts join instantly, new ones get a one-tap link.
- Per-athlete parent invites grant read-only access to that athlete's schedule and progress.
- Roles live per team: athlete on one team, coach on another, with everything scoped correctly.
- Row-level security in the database is the boundary — not just the interface. Sign-out wipes shared devices.
Calendar & events
Training, testing, and game day on one timeline.
- Two-week view of workouts, test days, games, meets, scrimmages, and tournaments.
- Times and locations on every entry; multi-team days flagged for dual-sport athletes.
- Parents see their athlete's full schedule the moment the coach posts it.
FAQ
Common questions
Signed-in users can also find these under Help & FAQ inside the app.
Getting in & getting the app
›How do I get AthleteFlow on my phone?
It installs straight from the browser — no app store. Use the install card at the bottom of this page: Android/Chrome shows an Install button; on iPhone it's Safari's Share → Add to Home Screen. Once installed it opens full-screen and works offline.
›I was invited but never got the email.
Ask your coach to re-send — and if the email still doesn't arrive, the app gives them a shareable invite link they can text you directly. The link works exactly like the email.
›I forgot my password.
Use "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen — you'll get a reset link by email. You can also change your password any time in Settings.
›Can I be on more than one team, or hold different roles?
Yes. Roles live per team — you can be an athlete on one team and a coach on another. Dual-sport athletes see sessions from all their teams, color-coded, and coaches see cross-team conflicts flagged on the roster.
For athletes
›What happens if I log a workout with no signal?
›My workout says "75% 1RM" — of what?
Of your one-rep max for that lift. Once a verified 1RM is on file, the app shows the actual target weight next to the prescription. No 1RM yet? Log one yourself on Metrics (your coach verifies it first), or ask your coach to add one on a test day.
›Can I log my own 1RMs and benchmark scores?
Yes. On Metrics, use Log a result to record a lift 1RM or a benchmark test (40yd dash, mile time, vertical — whatever your program tracks). Your entry shows as pending until a coach verifies it; once verified, it drives your %-of-1RM target weights and counts on the team leaderboard. Benchmark results you log during live conditioning work the same way.
›Why should I do the daily check-in?
The four taps (sleep, soreness, energy, mood) build your readiness score. Your coach sees it before practice and can adjust your training load — it's the difference between training smart and just training.
›What does the leaderboard show?
Best results per test and lift across your team — see Metrics. Parents don't see the leaderboard, only their own athlete's numbers.
For coaches & admins
›What's the difference between a coach and an admin?
Coaches get the full toolkit for teams they coach. Admins additionally manage the whole school: create teams and manage any roster.
›How do percentage-based programs work across a whole roster?
Build one template with %-of-1RM loads; each athlete sees their own target weight computed from their current verified max. Record maxes under Testing — the coach tutorial walks through it.
›An athlete logged their own 1RM — where does it go?
Athlete-logged 1RMs and benchmark results land in Testing → Review as pending entries. Verify to make them official — only verified numbers drive %-of-1RM programming and the leaderboard — or remove anything that doesn't look right. Benchmark times logged during live conditioning arrive in the same queue.
›Can I assign different workouts to different athletes?
Yes — every assignment targets the whole team or a single athlete, including recurring series. Rehabbing athletes can run an individual plan alongside the team schedule.
›How does nutrition billing work between teams?
Items belong to the team that stocked them. When you share an item with another team, their athletes' grabs are billed to their team — the Activity tab splits consumption into your own vs. cross-program dollars.
›An athlete left the program — delete them?
Deactivate instead (in Manage). Their history stays for your records and reporting, and you can reactivate them next season.
For parents & guardians
›How do I get access to my athlete?
The coach sends you a parent invite by email from the team roster — ask them directly. The parent tutorial covers the rest.
›What can I see — and what can't I?
You see your linked athlete's schedule (games, meets, sessions) and progress (benchmarks, PRs, 1RMs), read-only. You can't edit or log anything, and you can't see other athletes.
›Can both parents have access?
Yes — the coach can invite multiple guardians per athlete.
Privacy & data
›Who can see my data?
Access is enforced row-by-row in the database, not just in the interface. Athletes see their own data; coaches and admins see their teams; parents see only athletes they're linked to. Profile photos are private to your teams. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
›What happens when I sign out on a shared device?
The app wipes its offline cache on sign-out, so a school computer or weight-room tablet keeps nothing about you.
